Nicholas Rotello, CFA
Managing Partner

Nicholas Rotello founded our predecessor firm, Seven Two Partners, in 2009. The firm rebranded in 2024 and brought on additional co-founders.

 

Nicholas has over two decades of manager due diligence experience across asset classes, including research on more than 10,000 investment firms worldwide. His experience has been focused on researching alternative (hedge funds, private equity, real estate and distressed debt) and traditional investments (U.S., non-U.S., and emerging market equities and fixed income). In addition to manager due diligence (search, selection, monitoring), Nicholas is experienced in all aspects of a client investment portfolio, tax efficiency, asset allocation, rebalancing, risk management, and portfolio modeling.

Nicholas' prior investment experience includes proprietary option trading, an employee at TIAA-CREF, an analyst at a small hedge fund, an analyst at a $60+ billion dollar investment consulting firm, the Director of Investment Consulting at a $3+ billion dollar wealth management firm, and Chief Investment Officer of a $20+ billion dollar investment consulting firm. Nicholas began his career in the United States Army in 1990 and honorably served with the 82nd Airborne Division in Operation Desert Storm.

Nicholas earned his B.S. in Business at Colorado State University, and a M.S. in Finance from the University of Denver. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder.

Andrew Macken
Managing Partner

Andrew Macken, our co-founder, brings over thirty years of diverse institutional investment experience serving both families and institutions.

 

For the past twelve years Andrew served as Managing Director and Managing Partner of two multi family offices; Baldwin Brothers and Cottage Street Advisors, organizing family wealth and allocating capital across the spectrum of asset classes globally.


Before his transition to family office services, Andrew spent eight yeas at Goldman Sachs where he worked as a Director in their Investment Consulting Group advising institutional clients and families on investment strategy, portfolio management, and economic policy.


Prior to Goldman Sachs, Andrew spent ten years with Fidelity Investments where he worked as a Vice President in their Institutional Investment Services Company. There he worked directly with institutional, defined contribution and defined benefit clients advising them on portfolio construction, investment policy, and investment committee structure.

 

Additionally, Andrew assisted in founding Addepar, a financial technology company that enables family offices, registered investment advisors and institutions to aggregate and report on assets held by multiple custodians and currencies around the world.

 

Andrew earned his B.A. in Economics at University of Rhode Island and is a Registered Investment Advisor under the regulation of the Security and Exchange Commission.

Ryan Ritchie
Managing Partner

Ryan Ritchie, our co-founder, brings over two decades of investment management and family governance expertise.

 

Following a successful career in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy, including a stint with the US Ski Team, Ryan forged a new path in finance and family business. He was initially elected to both the Family Council and Governance Research Committee of family-owned Freedom Communications, where he earned certificates in family business governance and wealth management. 

 

Ryan spent 14 years with Hallador, a single family office RIA focusing on institutional style portfolio management, family governance, family education, wealth management, and succession planning. Since 2019, he has been the Managing Member of a single family office with a focus on alternative assets and family education. He continues to consult with families on portfolio management, governance, and other family topics.

 

Ryan graduated With Distinction from London’s Cass (now Bayes) Business School with an MSc in Investment Management. In addition, he serves on the Investment Committee of the Parasol-Tahoe Community Foundation and several non-profit Boards of Directors.

Marc S. Bathgate
Managing Partner

Marc S. Bathgate, our co-founder, has 15 years of alternative investment experience and almost two decades in financial markets. He is also a partner in Distilled Alternatives, our sister firm.

Marc started his career as an analyst and investment banker at GVC Capital focusing on the technology and natural resource sectors. In 2008, he joined Hamilton Miller Investments, a hybrid placement agent and single family office.

Hamilton Miller was initially focused on hedge funds. Marc helped lead the transition to private markets starting in 2009 with a focus on secondaries, venture, and other niche asset classes. He ultimately became Managing Partner, sourcing most of HMI's managers and building an expansive network of institutional and individual investors. He co-founded Distilled Alternatives in 2020 to continue the same business.

Marc graduated in 2005 with a BA in History from Claremont McKenna College, where he served as student body president. He served on the advisory board of the Kravis Leadership Institute from 2010-2022 and was most recently a founding board member for Telos Classical Academy.

Jamie Ann Medina

Jamie Ann Medina joined Seven Two Partners in 2015. She is an Investment Research Analyst and focuses her time on due diligence, manager research, asset class valuations, and client reporting.

Prior to Seven Two Partners, Jamie's experience spanned a myriad of industries including accounting, interior design, and promotion management. She discovered a passion for investing through her internship at Seven Two Partners.

 

She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Finance from Regis University and holds a M.S. in Marketing from Regis University.

Vicki Denhoffer is our COO and CCO. She brings 10 years of experience in finance and an extensive prior career to the aid of Seven Two and its clients. She is also a partner in Distilled Alternatives.

Vicki started her career in film production, then after her children were born became an active volunteer for Autism Speaks, local public schools, and other organizations while running her own small business focused on scrapbooking.

She joined Hamilton Miller in 2013 as a research associate before being promoted to Vice President in 2016. She co-founded Distilled Alternatives in 2020.

A 1989 graduate of Northwestern University, Vicki earned a BA in Political Science.
